Journey Home Minnesota Breaks Ground on Home for Disabled Veteran

Journey Home Minnesota and its veteran housing arm, Veterans Journey Home, broke ground on its 27th home. This home will be built for a military veteran who was wounded while serving our country.

This project will be unique because it includes a robust volunteer effort that will substantially reduce the cost of the home. Lead sponsors McGough Construction and St. Paul College will be joined with other partners such as Bolander & Sons, Cemstone, The Home Depot Foundation, Wells Fargo and many more.

Speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony included the County Commissioner, Journey Home Minnesota’s founder, Blake Huffman, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi, McGough Construction Chief Operating Officer Brad Wood and Retired Major Al Duff.

Much of the home will be built by St. Paul College’s Carpentry Program and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2016.
